Having been a firefighter and also having worked in an ER, my tolerance for what constitutes a true emergency has changed over the years. Needless to say, as a photographer I don’t get many emergency calls anymore. This is probably the closest I’ll come…
Katie+Matt do something I wish everyone did. They take the time every year to celebrate their marriage and have a photo session together. As photographers themselves, they understand the value of carving the time out to capture where they are at every step of their marriage. Well, they were all set to go – hair done, all dressed up – and unfortunately the photographer they had lined up couldn’t make it. So they called me (Katie and I have been trying to meet for a few months) and Jess and I headed out to spend some time with this wonderful couple. Today is actually their three year anniversary, so I feel like I had to finish these up for them as a little unexpected gift!
Since Matt works at Miller, we thought we’d start there and then we made our way to Hart Park in Wauwatosa. The weather was perfect and Katie+Matt did a wonderful job leaving their photographer ways behind and focusing on each other instead.
You might be asking, “what’s a beloved session?” Well, I’ll have that on the blog over the next few months. As a quick intro though, it’s a session for couples who want to connect with each other in a very real and meaningful way. It’s for couples that have been together 1 or 60 years. It’s about stealing time away from the world to focus on each other – our beloved. Jess and I just recently had a beloved session with Anda Marie and loved it (check it here!) Drop me a line if you’re interested and we can chat more.
