For Piano:
Playing around with it a bit I have found that it is based on F in 2nd inversion.
So F, C/E (high note is that Bb, walk down to A), Dm (D and F, use A for melody)
Then Bb (skip that C), then Gm/Bb (just walk your F up to G)
King of Yesterday part is F, Gm, Bb like above.
Sorry if this is confusing but when I have time i will clean it up. - Andy
For Guitar:
F 133211
C 032010
Dm 000231
Bb 113321
G 355433
F C Dm
Can you still remember how it seemed?
Bb G F
We could live forever in a lover's dream.
C Dm
Falling was the best part, but now you know
Bb G F
the things you cling to your heart can start to grow.
G Bb
You, you're walking away.
F G Bb
I've been there, now, I know what to say.
F G Bb
I'm the King of Yesterday.
A silly little love song for myself,
it's all I ever do you know I shine the shelves.
A pretty little picture, the face of you,
you were my steady sun and now you're every view.
You, you're walking away.
I've been there, now, I know what to say.
I'm the King of Yesterday.
Why don't you stay?
F
Take a little time,
G
throw it on the line
Bb
let me believe that you believe in me.
F
Baby turn around,
G
look at what I found,
Bb
you are the one that I want(ed).
(repeat)
Someday I'll be over, on my own,
believing all the legends of the loves I've known.
Seeing you in summer the way we were,
when you were 17, you know I much prefer, you walking away.
I've been here, now, I know what to say.
I'm the King of Yesterday.
Why don't you stay?
