NOTES: The stumming pattern goes like this: stum down the 1st
couple of stings with thumb(e,a,d), then stum up with index finger
1st couple strings from the bottom(e,b,g). At the begining of the
song, Jude picks the 1st 2 measures of the G chord. I fake it by
semi-picking the high e, low e, a, b, d, g in that order. But
don't try to be percise. I think that the overtones are
what make this song.

	(G) When I was young and pushed around
And (C)beaten up and beaten down
(G)Who'd I run to mama tell me (D)who

(G)And as I grew to be a man
(C)And all the world held such Član
(G)I did what I thought (D)I just had to (G)do

	Chorus:
(C)It was you mama you, it was (G)you all along
It was you I ran away from I was (D)wrong
And (G)if I could I'd change my life
I (C)swear to God I'd cut it out with a knife
	And with a (G)glue stick I'd (D)reapply it in a (G)song

(ALL OTHER VERSES SAME AS ABOVE)
And laid back Kerouac never no a heart attack
Drinking and thinking about the place that he ran back to
The moloch is an old man the moloch is a love-lack
Bending for a quick snack remembering his friend Jack
And mama sometimes I remember you

	Chorus

	(F)Man (C)loves (G)woman
	(F)Mother (C)loves (G)child
	(F)Sometimes I (C)call my lady (G)mama
	So (F)I can feel at (C)home for a (G)while
	So (F)I can feel at (C)home for a (G)while

Looking around at all the Mellencamp towns
The excuses and the nooses where the coffee grounds
I found places and traces of a storybook world
And I went out there for a ride
On the misty coast but the holy host
Is under Mickey D's American flag and it's unfurled

	Chorus

	(SAME AS ABOVE BRIDGE)
	Man loves woman sometimes
	Mother loves child
Sometimes I call my lady mama
So I can feel at home for a while
So I can feel at home for a while
