united we stand – sept 11th memorial concert

Sept 11th, 2011 marked the 10th anniversary of the attacks on Sept. 11th. Bel Canto Chorus put together an amazing memorial concert and I was blessed to have been there to witness it and to photograph it. I wouldn’t have wanted to miss it for the program alone – Mozart’s Requiem is one of my favorite pieces.

There were so many people and groups involved: Bel Canto Chorus, the Bel Canto Boys Choir, the Milwaukee Chamber Orchestra, the Interfaith Conference of Greater Milwaukee and Midwest Vocal Express. Not to mention the Milwaukee Fire Dept, Milwaukee Police Honor Guard and host of special dignitaries: Mayor Barrett, County Exec. Chris Abele, Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefish.

If you weren’t there, that’s ok. It was broadcast on Wisconsin Public Television and I’ll post the video of the event after the photos.

I had the honor of being published twice for some recent articles about the Bel Canto Chorus and their (then) upcoming concerts (both magazines ran the photos in their December issues). Milwaukee Home and Fine Living ran a full page article complete with two of my images. Milwaukee Magazine ran a sidebar article with one image.
