I love to see couples connect – on a very real level – and be able to celebrate their love together. That’s why I love weddings! And yet, sometimes engagement session are almost more fun because couples can focus on each other without anything else to distract them. There’s no where else to be, nothing else to accomplish – it’s their time to revel in each other.
Here’s some of my favorites from last year’s engagement sessions. In ever case I was able to bear witness to a very beautiful connection between each couple – and that for me is what it’s all about!
our trip to the dominican republic

Jessica and I really enjoyed our trip to the Dominican Republic to shoot Caroline+Michael’s wedding and day after session. We also enjoy the travel and getting to know the DR a bit more. Here’s a quick recap in photographs.
Besides being on the resort, we took a one day safari into the country. We visited a cocoa and coffee plantation (and walked through their house to get an idea of a normal families life in the DR). We went horseback riding and boogie boarding on a secluded and beautiful beach. We saw how sugar cane becomes sugar (and eventually rum) and also saw cigars being made by hand. And tasted a little of everything.
The first half of the post are photos from Fuji X100. I love this camera. At the end of the post are a whole bunch of square shots from my iPhone and Instagram (feel free to add me on IG: andystenz).
Should you visit the Dominican? Yes. When? Whenever you can!
