If you’re wondering why there is snow in these photos, it’s not because it’s snowed recently in Madison (although it’s not unheard of in Wisconsin if you’re not from here!). It’s just that I’m still catching up on my blog posts. ;-)

Here’s some shots from Andrea+Aaron’s engagement session in Madison a few months ago. It was cold and they were troopers (although we did get in the Capital for a bit to warm up). Their wedding is really going to be amazing, not just because it’s going to be held at the beautiful Olbrich Botanical Gardens with a reception at Quivey’s Grove, rather mainly because these two have been together for years and really have so much love for each other, love that’s been tested and found to be true.

Without my further ramblings, enjoy…

I have been horrible with blogging lately. I’ve got a few sessions and weddings to post and I plan to get those up over the next month or so. Life is flying by and it’s been a lot of fun!

A few weeks ago, my dad’s side of the family went out and celebrated what would have been my Grandpa’s birthday. Grandpa and Grandma Stenz loved Vegas and spent a lot of time there, so it was fitting to have a gathering to celebrate there. I decided before we went that there were a few shots I wanted to get. I’m happy to say that I was able to get all of them, and then some. I wanted to go out early one morning (so I headed into the desert at 4am one day), I wanted a nighttime shot of the strip (which allowed for a day shot as I was scoping out locations), and I wanted to get to Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam to get some shots.

As a bonus, when we got near Lake Mead, we decided to take a short helicopter ride (Jess, my sisters and I). I’ve been in helicopters before, yet they hadn’t, so it was great chance to get a little taste of it.

All in all, it was a great few days with the family.

I had the privilege of shooting a series of headshots for 89.7 WUWM the other week. Since I basically only listen to WUWM, I was excited to meet all of the on-air personalities.

We did one high key B&W and one color setup for each of the talent, and then a few group shots. The B&W’s are going to be used in the reception area and the color and group shots may be used in a variety of places.

At one point with the large group shot, my ears were on overload. Because I listen to WUWM all the time and know their voices, when we were getting organized and everyone was talking it sounded like there were 10 different radios on at once!

Here’s a composite of my favorites of the B&W headshots:
