To me, photography is about being in the moment; it’s about being present and aware. It’s life experienced and remembered. Real emotions and real connections. That’s what I look for in the viewfinder of my camera. I love people and I love weddings – that’s why I love my job! Working with people on their wedding day energizes me because I’m privy to all of the important moments, all of the raw emotion and excitement. I feel honored to be able to call it my full time job. I think a great portrait can find the essence of someone if they are willing to be vulnerable and open. I work best with people who are laid back and willing to be open and real about who they are, with or without a camera being there. I’m married to an amazing woman who supports me and loves me in untold ways. I’m forever grateful for her love. And amazed by her beauty inside and out. I’m a book nut. And a gadget nut. So basically I use my Kindle a lot. I love books that make me laugh and books that make me think. I think the unexamined life is not worth living. I’m trying to be a disciple of a crazy and radical guy named Jesus – but it’s not easy. I’m planning on walking across Wisconsin in 2012. I enjoy kayaking and being in nature but after too many horror movies as a kid (one?) I can still get a little creeped out in the woods at night. I have a list of things I want to do in my life and I’m working at making sure I don’t procrastinate and miss the opportunities that are out there. I only get one shot at this life and want to experience it to its fullest. I love conversation, so hit me up if you’d like a cup of tea or coffee!
