Julie+Pete are pretty stellar human beings. The kind you want around you in good and bad times. They excel at their careers and they are rocking life together.
I was overjoyed to join them out on the Big Island of Hawaii for their intimate wedding at Ke Alohi Kai, an estate right on the ocean in Kona-Kailua.
The ceremony was delayed a few minutes by a little rain but the humidity didn’t stop us all day long. There was a firedancer and a ukulele player, because after all we were in Hawaii. The day was completely laid back and had a wonderful island feel to it.
Besides all of the hard work Julie+Pete put into the day, they had some amazing help from Rachel+Ben at Vintage & Lace who helped put together a stellar cast of vendors. Seriously. I think every vendor asked me what would work best for me to get the best photos I could get. Besides doing an amazing job for Julie+Pete, they made my job that much easier! The flowers were by Passion Flowers by Nalani , the food by Paradise Gourmet, and the cake by Short N Sweet Bakery.
Julie+Pete: Here’s to many more beautiful sunsets for the two of you! Aloha!
PS: The lack of Pete’s dress shirt came during a little accident with some amazing teriyaki sauce during dinner. The best part: the vendors took his shirt, laundered it and returned it to him dry! Amazing people.
PPS: That BLUE DRESS! Love it.
Eyes can tell you something; they expresses emotion that sometimes the face hides, they dart to-and-fro when someone is bored, and they can be a window into the soul if you pay close enough attention.
Sarah+Joe’s eyes tell me how much they love one another. Joe couldn’t stop looking at Sarah all day; and when he was fixed on her, it was in intense appreciation for who she is. And the joy Sarah finds in Joe made her eyes twinkle.
Because they had everything at Hubbard Park in Shorewood, the day was super laid back and easy. That allowed them to spend more time staring into each other’s eyes too, which was nice.
The ceremony was performed by the jovial and wonderful Judge Derek Mosley, who had everyone’s eyes laughing during the ceremony.
Sarah+Joe, thanks for letting me record a part of your love and for sharing it here. Continue to share it with the world and it will indeed be a better place for it!
